    mechanism question / Help?

    Laurence Brown

      Hi All,

I'm currently working on a door lock development.

The lock is primarily driven driven by a motor and gears which in turn rotate a shaft both clockwise and anticlockwise.

However the design I'm working on also requires a manual override function  (which is independent to the gears).

I've looked, but can't find a sutable mecnism that will enable this functionality, and wondered if anyone had any thoughts or could offer any advice?

Attached is a picture of something close, but this only locks in a anticlockwise direction.... in my design i the lock to engage in both!

so.....When the outer green ring is turned by the motor in either direction i need it to engage the with the blue shaft and turn both.

      but

when the blue shaft is turned manualy in either direction i need it to move freely without causing  the green outer ring to rotate!

      i hope this explains?

As mentioned any thoughts would be great?

      regards
