I want to save library feature parts in a Dropbox folder so that I can access them from different workstations at different work locations.
If I do this, the feature doesn't appear in the selection list, e.g. weldment profiles.
Instead, the only way I can make the parts appear in the dropdown selection list is to save them the Solidworks default library feature folder on the C: drive.
I use a Dropbox folder for all my SW files. As long as you correctly set the paths, it should work fine.
Thanks Deepak and Marshall. I'm not sure I've set the paths correctly. I tried to replicate the default file path within Dropbox to no avail.
Give the path of your local installed Dropbox folder. For e.g. C:\Dropbox Data\Dropbox\Weldment Profiles
I matched the file paths on both computers exactly. The only difference is the Drive letter. On my PC, it's F: drive, on the laptop it's C: drive. Will this cause the problem?
No it should not matter if you have set them correctly under Tools > Options > File Locations > Weldment Profile.
Could you share your screen via team viewer to see as why it is not working?
Did you added the path for the Dropbox location on under Tools > Options > File location.
I just tested it again for both weldment profiles and forming tools in design library and both are working without a glitch.
