I am trying to use “Task Scheduler” to change some text in
22 part files and I can’t get it to work correctly. I am sure I am doing
something wrong just don’t know what it is.
I have all these files in a separate folder and I tried both
ways selecting the folder or add all the files. Enclosed is a zip file with
some snap shots of what I am trying to do. any help would be greatly
appreciated

this is what I get when the time comes and passes and I have tried this with printing also. so maybe my "Task Scheduler" is not working
correctly?

This free bit of software allows you to run macros on select file types and select folders. never had any luck with Task Scheduler myself.
Also uploaded a macro that might help?
I am assuming downloading task is safe? and I didn't see any other macros. I am pretty busy today and will get back on this project this evening. thanks for help
#TASK should be safe to use. I just recently had this downloaded on my computer and plan to play around with it soon. I was recommended this by some well known ppl here on the forums.

Bob Switala - Task Scheduler only updates information in the "Customs Tab" - so if you want to change anything in the "Configurations Tab"
Then you need to do it either manually or use a macro...
If you use the Custom Property Tab Builder you need to click on the "Show on Customs Tab" for the Task Scheduler to work when you want to update custom properties..
Not the "Show on Configurations Tab"
I use the attached Macro written by Markku Lehtola to update custom properties rather then the Task Scheduler
Thanks for the input, I am trying to edit the boxes on the custom
tab not configuration. I think something is messed up with my “task scheduler”,
I can’t even batch print this folder.
I will keep messing with it when I get time.
I don't even use the property tab builder, I have template files with the properties already set up.
I have not, I downloaded a spread sheet. is that macro?
I opened it but have not played with it. I will try it later this evening. I did see a lot of boxes you could change, I am guessing if you leave them blank and only change the ones needed? I guess the macro is nested inside the spread sheet?

I downloaded the “task” and got it running. This is pretty
awesome does exactly what I want to do and maybe more. I installed the free
version, will it run out? I don’t want to get addicted to it and it run out. Did
you buy the software? I have some assembly files that I get from a customer in
the step format. I create part files from that and make drawings and create part
step files. I will be looking at a faster way to do that later in another post

sorry I thought you wanted me to use task? I never run the other macro
I think I remember having some issues with the Task Scheduler for 2017 SP2 - We have moved to SP3, and it seems to be a little better.
(I'm going to start using #TASK for more of my stuff in the future.)
