I have an assembly that has built of 6 different configurations of the same part. Each configuration is unique and different (i.e. not 6 different screw sizes/lengths, but a screw, a nut, a washer, etc).

It's necessary to use configurations because each configuration references common sketches and elements that needs to remain consistent across all configurations.

It's necessary to use an assembly to see all the configurations to demonstrate motion between configurations.

The solidworks part file is relatively large (~18 mb) but the assembly is small (~3mb). The part file rebuild time between configurations is pretty quick, but the assembly rebuild time is very slow.

Are there other ways I can set up my assembly file to decrease rebuild time?

Thank you,

Liam
