Is there a setting in Windows Internet Explorer?
It is not a setting in IE, it is a system setting. You just need to change what the default program is that the system tries to use when opening a file with that extension.
Thanks Doug but this is not the issue as I have changed the file association/default program to use and it does not work for my particular situation.
To clarify and provide more information:
To provide for viewing of our assemblies, we generate "*.EASM" files (eDrawings of our assemblies). We then use a program called CADSTAR that runs on our intranet to view the EASM files. Basically, a query is made, the file is found and you click on the file to open it.
Here is the twist:
The file opens in eDrawings if the computer does not have SolidWorks installed, just the eDrawings viewer.
The file opens in Windows Internet Explorer if the computer has SolidWorks installed, along with the eDrawings viewer.
Sorry for not providing this info in the original post.
