I added drafts to the yellow and it's still yellow. What am I doing wrong? I want all the yellow to be red.
Your draft is 1 deg, and what is the draft analysis set to? If it's more than 1 deg, you are going to get the red where you have the draft. Also, you do not need to put in a parting line at the bottom or a part like you did. Just pick the bottom face where, in this part, you picked the parting line.
It is hard to tell from the picture but make sure your draft looks like the pic below.
Making A New Fiberglass Hatch From A Mold - YouTube
I want to use this method to make a mold for the door. I feel like I already know how to do this in solidworks. It's right there in plain sight, but I can't figure it out. Maybe it's incredibly simple and I'm overthinking it.
Does anyone have any tips that might help me figure it out?
Model the overall shape you want and then learn how to use the shell tool.
Could it also be done with a core and cavity? That's what I've been trying.
Core and cavity is a must while slide and lifter are options depend on the part
From the image you showed here, there only needs core and cavity
Are you trying to make the part or the core and cavity? If you are trying to make the core and cavity, I would still start by making the finalized part. Then the steps to making the core and cavity involve inserting a derived part, using multi bodies and subtracting one body from another.
