What can I do to avoid a sub-assembly showing phantom lines in a drawing? SolidWorks 2017
A screenshot would probably help here.
All that is phantom lines I need to have as visible. I unchecked "use document defaults"
After ok and rebuild, this is what I have on drawing. Each time I reopen drawing, I need to do the same steps over again
OK, couple of questions:
1) Do you have different components in your drawing added to different layers? This might be the issue, especially if you have a layer that uses phantom lines.
2) Those components that are showing up as phantom, are they "envelope" components at the assembly level?
3) Is the drawing draft quality? (sometimes that makes things phantom for me)
The assembly that is showing up as phantom lines has one configuration but multiple display state. None of these are envelopes either. Would changing this setting make a difference? I thought it did at first until I went to another sheet that had a different display state.
That probably won't affect the issue. What about the other questions?
Phantom lines can be caused by any number of things:
tangent edges, alternate position views, draft quality, etc... The list goes on and on.
Glenn is right, if you gave us a screenshot, we would be able to give you a good SWAG.
