Hello, i am new with static simulations so sorry for this basic question- i made very simple model of shaft and applied force on one area. I wanted to compare results by hand and by software. I made somewhere with my calculatons mistake and i am not able to get result like from software. Could you please correct my hand calculation? or could you send me link for some similar examples (where each step is explained)?

Everything looks good to me - your hand calculations and FEA both indicate the stress is 43 MPa.

if i look at ansys - there is maximum sress 58,6 Mpa and my result is 43 Mpa, thats quite big diffrence...why? mesh?

You have not got the restraints right in ansys. You have issues related to Poisson's ratio when you fix the end of the shaft that are not accounted for in the hand calc. If you use a qtr symmetry model and and only use a sliding restraint on the three faces you will get the average stress (the hand calc) to show up as the maximum (or pretty close) as the induced stress risers will be minimized at the BC. If you check the average stress in the Ansys model it will be very close to the right number.

Use the 'probe' tool to query the green points away from the restraint. They will be very close to 43 MPa.

Thanks a lot Bill and Keith. I made a few changes (with restrains) and now its ok. I am happy that i got the same results like solidworks.
I will follow Jos van Kreij videos on youtube to learn more things about simulations. If you have any other good resources, let me know.

I'm always impressed by book by Paul Kurowski Ph.D., P.Eng. SDC Publications: Author Paul Kurowski Ph.D., P.Eng. You can preview some of the content on 'google books'. The books are pretty reasonably priced, too, especially as e-books.
The 'COSMOS Companion' series is good, and free. It's available in the Knowledge Base. See this thread: cosmos companion The more recent 'step up series' is also good.
