Sorry I forgot to mention that I am using the 2017-18 Student Edition.
First of all, suppressing a component isn't "just making a component temporary invisible without connecting/disconnecting the components in the model". When you suppress a component you also suppress any mates or relations involving it. If you just want to hide a component then do just that: Hide it.
Now that I got that off my chest, I'll try to help. Assuming your assembly didn't show any errors before you suppressed the components then unsuppressing them shouldn't have thrown up any new errors, unless you had placed some mates that caused conflicts. It doesn't sound like that's it. Have you tried a Ctrl+Q rebuild.
