We have Solidworks PDM within our engineering company, We are looking to set up a new file plan to streamline processes and archive the old one. To this end the preferred option would be to create a new vault and migrate pertinent documents and drawings across from one vault to the other. I have been informed that in doing this we lose version control and migrating one document across will mean that it starts at version one even if in the old vault it was on version 4 say. Firstly is this correct and if so is there a way of migrate documents etc from one vault to another and keep the old version information etc. Is my better option fto create a new folder structure in the current vault with new permission sets?
