I have multiple decals placed on cubes in a visualize scene but the image gets warped no matter what I do. The only thing I can think of is... When I started project I made a cube very tall then attached the decals.
Here is a small render from the project without the decals on the pillars.
I assume you used the decal manipulator tool, dragging the center cube widget around on the surface, to ensure the decal was projected perfectly orthogonal to the surface?
Do you see the same in preview and fast modes?
I did only move the decal by the handles for positioning. I tried importing a different decal I made in photoshop with the same results.
In fast mode, the decal looks perfect. But when changed to accurate it gets warped.
Hrm. Odd. And it's a planar surface that the decal is on? No appearance applied to the decal?
its a cube i created in visualize. matte appearance on cube I think and no appearance on decal.
Chris, I don't personally use visualize but it looks as if the software simply doesn't know what to do with that small piece of black stripe left in the upper corner when stretched. I'd try another .jpg with the corner shown in yellow like the quick snip-it I stole from your image and see if it generates a better result.
Or along these lines, what if you lock the decals aspect ratio when you stretch it out (looks stretched vertically quite a bit). Lock it, then resize it... Still occur?
John Pesaturo I will try that. On a side note I am using almost the identical decal used on the sides of the lifts, and they have no issue. It only happens when placed on the cubes in the project.
Ron Bates I tried doing your suggestion as well as creating an even larger decal.
