MSI is recruiting for the following position: Mold Designer on 1st Shift at the Greenville, SC facility.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in job and start up meetings to assist in developing the best design for manufacturability
• Requote design and modeling phase of project
• Development of complete mold designs from concept phase to full release for manufacturing
• Assist other designers with design and software questions
• Support and adhere to MSI process and standards
• Provide input on hardware and software plans
• Monitor and document design progress
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Ability to design molds that are in conformance with MSI standards and are cost effective to manufacture
• Be able to present information to management & customers logically and thoroughly
Required Experience:
• Experience in designing injection and structural foam molds from supplied part data
• Experience in solid modeling software used for mold design ( Solid Works or Pro Engineer, Solidworks is prefered)
Required Education:
• Completion of an AAS Design program or equivalent experience
Required Skills:
• Mold building knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of the mechanics and functionality of molds
• Ability to complete injection and structural foam mold designs from supplied solid model design consisting of cavity / core split with parting line and mechanism created
• Ability to design molds that are in conformance with MSI standards and are cost effective to manufacture
