I've used SolidWorks before and now wish to buy a copy and use it in conjunction with an Ultimaker 3 3D printer. My computer has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 graphics card and this isn't in the list of recommended graphics cards. Other than this all the requirements are met in terms of operating system, memory, hard drive capacity, etc. I'm told that using a graphics that isn't officially recommended may cause instability. I'm not sure what this means but if it's likely to crash the system, then buying a new computer with all approved components may well be the answer. But I'm unlikely ever to exploit the full capabilities of SolidWorks and produce very complex parts (well not initially). Does anyone know of any significant problems that may occur with this graphics card?
