I am trying to put an external thread on on a shaft and when I go to the "thread" tool no sizes show up at all. Where would I go to relink the standard thread profiles?
Thank you all for your help!
What version of SWX are you using?
I am using 2015 and I believe there is not Thread command in 2015 except for cosmetic threads.
You may have to create the thread using a helix if you want it to show correctly on a part, but this is very memory intensive and usually you would want to limit making visually correct threads on a part or in an assembly.
Also, cosmetic threads will only show up on the drawings and only using certain standards.
Open the Solidworks Help in your version and see what it describes for available options or restrictions.
The Tread command was new in 2016. Make sure that the correct file location is set in System options and that the files exist in that location. The default file location on my system is C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS 2016\thread profiles. The file type that should be at that location is .SLDFLP.
No luck I will continue to keep looking for an answer I have attached a picture below of what I have...
Save the attached files in C:\ProgramData\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS 2016\Thread ProfilesMake sure the correct location has been mentioned in thread profile under file locations
Else create a folder anywhere and browse that folder with attached files in location for thread profile
