Is there a way to hide the extension line highlighted in the picture? It is overrunning the circular lines of the holes. The problem concerns both arrows depending on the position of the dimension.
When you click on the dimension, click on the Leaders Tab in the PropertyManager. Select appropriate leader options. (See Image).
Thank's for the answer. However, the extension line is still there if I move around the dimension and I would like to keep both arrows.
Sorry I misunderstood, You could try using the linear dimension option (3rd one along in the top row of the previous picture). The caveat with this is that if you try to move it again after this you will get straight leaders if you move it.
The extensions are being caused I suspect because SOLIDWORKS does not appear to be seeing the circles as a single entity, so it is a series of arcs rather than a single line..
Is your centerline a continuous arc? I am only getting leaders from the end of an arc, if it is continuous there are no leaders. See below:
Leader only apears if I drag the dimension off of the arc as below:
Dimensions on continuous arcs never have a leader:
Did you sketch your circular line of the fixing holes (d=35)? I did it using center mark tool and you may be right that the circle isn't continuous and it breaks at every hole. So the function is automatic and cannot turn of, right?
Yes I did sketch the centerline for the holes. I have just tried it using center mark tool & although it does appear to be one arc when selected, it is in fact broken into several parts. For three holes, there is an arc for each hole & then an arc between each hole, so 6 in total. To avoid the leaders you only have to select the arc nearest to where you are going to place the dimension & as long as the dimension remains withi the confines of the arc, you won't get any leaders. See example below:
Top dimension selected top arc & bottom dimension I selected bottom right arc & have no leaders.
