Is there a way to create a 3-axis tubing run in an assembly?

For example, say I have a 4" diameter stub tube pointing off in one direction, another one pointing off in another direction, and I want to model a piece of flexible tubing that will connect the two.  Is there a "semi automated" way to do this?

I've done this before with a sweep driven by a 3-D sketched path, but that can get a bit tedious and it's too easy to get disoriented in those 3-D sketches.
