Rotate the bitmap before inserting into the drawing
Everything is positioned in UTM and the image in properly positioned in the model. I am rotating the bitmap in the layout to allow for better use of space. Therefore rotating the image in the model prior to rotating the viewport in the layout will make my model incorrect.
Any other ideas?
Are you saying you can't adjust the bitmap picture, did you try jpg? - I've done this quite a bit in the past and haven't run into an adjustment issue, but I will say that a satellite bit map image is "Not" accurate at all, because of the "Angle of Projection" - unless you're lucky in finding a picture taken "Directly" vertical of the site. I always just used the images as a reference and also create view points in "New" construction etc...
I have not tried to import the sat image as a jpg but I will in a moment.
The issue is that when I rotate the viewport in the layout to maximize the use of space all the drawn objects rotate appropriately however the bitmap does not rotate, it simply stretches and skews.
The sat image is included as reference only at the clients request, I fully understand the issues regarding the parallax error and projection (data is in NAD83, Sat Image WGS84). I was actually a little shocked to see how well this image has actually fix. We always note the image is not to scale and is to be used for reference only.
Can you post the part & the image for testing?
As a workaround, could you hide the image in the model so it doesn't show in the drawing, and reinsert a rotated version in the drawing (layout)?
I just took a closer look at the posted images and the image on the right has not been rotated with the view. That's why it's distorted.
If you cannot rotate the image in the drawing view, you should be able to rotate both the image & the sketch in the model.
