I've got to make an alignment block to install pins on a PCB. The DXF file of the board is massive. I'm trying to clean it up by deleting the holes inside holes.
Is there a way to select entities by the dia of the circle, either in a macro or via SW menus?
I looked through all the dialogs and could not find anything for dia/rad.
Also, I am doing the work in a 2d part, it has no solids yet so this will not work.
Is there a way to do this with a macro?
Ok, you're right. Do you think either 'Add to Favorites' or 'Save Selection' would help?
I cannot find that menu item either in the RMB menu or in the Tools menu.
Oh, you had me wondering myself how I got that. Strange, huh?
Exit the sketch first, and then right-click on the sketch entity.
I found the help topic by Searching on "save selection", then Display on "Selection Sets":

I can select Save Selection this way, but then what?
I'm thinking that you would have to set this up beforehand so that you could refer to that Selection Set later.

I think you should suggest this as a feature request...
Try the Lasso Selection option ... but you will have to start the lasso outside of any shaded areas.
This does not give me the option to filter by dia/radius.
This has been outstanding for a few days. Is this something you have to do frequently?
Somewhat frequently, yes. We build our own PCB's here and I often have to work with the gerber files. They're real messy and hard to manage.
I know this is really nothing to do with SolidWorks but if you have AutoCAD it is really simple. I will elaborate further if needed.

We have AutoCAD but I don't use it because it's highly unstable on our PCoIP network. There are several other CAD and CAM systems that already do this. Mastercam is one. Of course, Mastercam is somewhat of an overachiever when it comes to functionality. They've literally thought of just about everything and provide you with at least 3 ways to do each one of them.
