I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get Solidworks to change the number format for revisions in drawings from 1, 2, 3... to 01, 02, 03?
This is because when we save a PDF of the revision on our file system, we save it as say R01 but in the drawing itself it says 1 - this is apparently confusing for some of our suppliers and thus I would like to fix it. Naturally, we could change our file naming system to suit but would really rather not because then R10 sits under R1 instead of under R9 for instance.
Hoping there is an easy fix with just some sort of format option in SW that I just can't seem to find?
FYI... we use the SW Rev tables to up-rev in a drawing and we don't have PDM software.
Hi Gary, we do use dual digit rev numbers as well. I've not seen a way to set it to do so automatically as yet. As a work around, I've set-up the custom properties tab in the part/assembly level to receive the rev data, then at drawing level use a macro to read the rev data from the part/assembly and stick it into the rev table. Something like this would get you started in that direction if it were of interest. https://forum.solidworks.com/message/252558#comment-252558
