I do not think there is any way to place a detail view letter inside the boundary. So may be hide the boundary, create your own and add note as needed.
Is there any way to put the detail letter into a note? I just want to find a way to keep them linked.
I can put one of the detail letters inside of the box. I grab the one that is used for the actual detail i.e. I swap which one is used where.
Still, now I cannot extend the detail with information. It adds to both.
Actually, you can 'hide' the outline.
Go to options> document properties> line style: create new line - "None" A, -2, -2
Then view> detail: 'Circle' set tp this blank line. It will show dotted on drawing, but will not print.
I have created a box (I only wanted a connector hole. Didn't want to 'hide' lines - edit: just found out you cannot delete lines on detail view - genius).
It just seems stupid to:
- stop detail letter from going into own circle
- have a barrier of a circle not the shape of the detail border
- not be allowed to use the detail letter in a note
I cannot see the logic here. Not having things linked is totally going against the programme.
Rhetorical: why do we even link things in the first place?
Okay. Option number 2.
I use a hole table to note the hole, and use the detail view to have the same letter.
Is there any way to edit the hole callout lettering? I have 4 holes all the same, but they've been allocated different letters.
I don't want to combine, as I am using the datum points to save measurement lines.
