I'm doing some subassemblies and producing drawings for them. I'd like to be able to show the parent assembly geometry in the drawing and wondered the best way to accomplish that. I tried inserting the parent assembly in the drawing, but then the BOM shows all the parts on the parent assembly rather than just the parts on the subassembly. Any thoughts are appreciated!
We've decided that referencing the parent assembly isn't really the way to go. Rather we will show the level below where the subassemblies are added to the model as the reference. What was confusing me was the fact that these subassemblies each can be installed in no particular order so that it just looks a little weird. If we decide we want to get picky about the order they get installed we will just add additional levels to the main assembly to reflect the order of installation.
