There is an 'invisible surface' corrupt in ds4110893206 on the original step part when imported into SW. Run import diagnostics on that part. You should get 2 gaps. On those gaps you can toggle to show the edges. This gives you and idea where it is
Now it's a matter of deleting the face in that area - it's invisible and when you select it won't show nothing on screen . Once deleted it's all sorted
Seen this loads of times when importing automotive files from Catia and alike and I can spend hours fixing them. The original model quite possible has bad surfaces.
Spot on that's the one, I think it kind of goes off into infinity hence the problem! I don't think it would be too hard to fix once deleted with new surfaces, it might be a case of tidying some of the tiny surfaces up around it to get a decent surface. Maybe offset and trim the outer surface inwards to work off.
I tried using SW2017, not much joy.
I then used Creo3 and re-exported Creo assembly as a .stp file. Attached is the conversion to SW2017. It also includes the converted .stp file.
