I am trying to make a spirally fluted pipe in ANSYS. I made the cross section as in the attached figure and sweeped on a straight line perpendicular to plane of the cross section. However I get a sort of a drill bit instead of the required spirally fluted pipe. Is there an issue with the cross section or the way I sweep ?

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately its not working in ansys. ive done it exactly the same but it gives this error
Error: Sweep feature failed for all profiles
Context: Sweep Feature Sweep2
also it is a spirally fluted tube, so hollow from the inside with the same fluted pattern. Thank you very much

there are only .wbpj files from ansys ?

As you can see, it is easily done in Solidworks.
And in case you didn't notice...this is the Solidworks Forum. It is a place for Solidworks related issues.
ANSYS is a completely different software.
As for how to do it in ANSYS, perhaps you should go to the ANSYS Forum and ask the question there...
