I've had 2 users unable to launch SolidWorks after installing Windows updates today, just hangs at loading registry. After uninstalling KB4025339 it started working again but I have other users with that update installed that aren't seeing any issues.
There have been many reports here of problems with automatic Windows 10 updates and SW. A search here for "Windows 10" should turn up some of them.

There is a fairly common issue with Windows 10 Update, automatically updating the hardware drivers.
This article is for graphic drivers, but it shows how to stop Windows 10 from updating hardware drivers.
I've seen it update the Nvidia drivers to a new uncertified driver immediately after we rolled it back to the certified one. It causes all sorts of issues with SOLIDWORKS 2017.
