    SW 2016 and ISO Weld Symbols issue

      Hi, we are currently using SW 2016, and have found that when applying weld symbols to drawings, certain symbols (like the Stud weld symbol and Flare Bevel symbol) are not available under the ISO standard, which we use; we have to browse to either the ANSI or the JIS standard to get the symbol. ISO weld symbols under BS EN ISO 2553: 2013 have these symbols in, so we are wondering if there is some kind of update we need to do, or failing that some way to add the symbols ourselves to the ISO library.

          SPR 625993.  In the meantime, you can edit the gtol.sym file, copying the appropriate symbol definitions from one standard to the other.   It is a text file that is fairly easy to understand if you are just copying things between standards.   Make a backup of the file in case you mess something up.  You have to restart SW after making any changes.


          If you are feeling adventurous, you can tweak the numbers to make the symbols match the size and position of other ISO symbols:
