I have a complex 3D object and I'd like to enclose this part such that the new part is "enclosed" like a larger version of the previous one. It's similar to scale, but it doesn't work when the part is complex. Say I have a hollowed out cylinder. I want a new part so that every external point on the new cylinder is exactly some arbitrary amount away. Look at the image, for example. The edges would be rounded, but the idea is the same.
