I've been trying to install Solidworks 2016 (with a student license) for a while now, but I keep running into this error:
"Failed to write ToolboxStandardsXML to : SOLIDWORKS Data"
Is there a way to fix this?
Kind regard.
Hi Jan,
Have you had previous versions of SOLIDWORKS installed on your computer before? Such as the previous years Student version?
If so you may need to run the Microsoft Fix it tool, found on the Microsoft Support Website, to remove any remnants from this previous version which could be blocking the new install: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
Please consider running this tool even if you didnt have a previous version, but use it to help with the install.
Regards,
Michael
