How can you simulate foam beyond linear compression area into cellular collapse?

Question asked by Matthew Mitchell on Jul 17, 2017

I am attempting to simulate no linear deflection in a shipping container where foam is used to retain the upper part of a large object. It has been shown in some of the higher g loading applications that the foam will deflect beyond the linear region and into the area where cell collapse happens which has a different stress strain curve.  I would like to know if there an effective way of performing this analysis without having to perform two studies.
