If you change a depth it wouldn't update the other. Look at it this way. what if I wanted my end be 2.0 and thread .625. now you change depth to .500, I don't want my drill depth to change
Ok i see your point here, but it leaves me with the question of then why are the linking options (at the far right side) fully operational
when placing the feature on the part the first time and not functional after?
These are 'Automatically Calculate Hole Depth' and 'Automatically Calculate Thread Depth'.
This functionality seems to 'break' later if i go back and try to adjust one of the depths.
Just a bit confusing and I can't seem to locate any info on the proper use of these functions in the HW tool.
Also - this seems to be an existing issue or bug i think:
UPDATE: ok so i tried the work around action suggested by the user in the article above
and it works. This seems to be a dumb bug that has never been corrected.
This is the action:
Access the hole feature, go to the thread depth/ hole depth section, at the very bottom,
change the hole 'option' to another type (tap drill, cosmetic thread, etc.) then immediately change back to the desired option
and this seems to correct the broken link functions. You'll immediately see the number input boxes change color to yellow.
Thanks! - JD
