I'm applying multiple colors to the appearance, but they all look dark gray after export.
This must have to do with the "texture" options, but I don't need a texture, just a color.
What version are you using?
I'm using 2016 Standard, attempting to export to .FBX
Ah. I thought you meant exporting from SW (or rather, simply importing SW data). You mean after you import the .FBX that was exported from Visualize... Right?
Do your appearances have textures on them? Are they set to Blend?
Where are you opening the FBX?
If you re-import the FBX into Visualize, are they also dark?
It comes imported from Solidworks with just a material (A36) applied. I'm attempting to export it to .FBX from Visualize pretty much as it looks in Solidworks. Everything looks good and fine in Visualize before export.
I dropped the exported models into SketchFab, Unity, and back into Visualize. They all look the same; dark grey.
I attempted adding a texture too, and made sure Blend was selected. but nothing sticks.
Here's what I'm seeing that gives a dark grey part. Color and Roughness makes no difference.
Seems both the "Metallic Paint" & Metal" both give me nothing on color. Other appearances work as I expected.
Can anyone else give this a try and see if they get similar results? Export a part as .FBX, then drop it back into Visualize. Metal and Metallic Paint will come in as near jet black unlike the other appearances.
This is a problem because my assemblies I'm importing are very large and Visualize imports and assigns 15 different shades of "Metal" that all have to be changed if I'm expected to export anything from there.
