I have read that whether it buckles first depends on comparing the FOS(factor of safety) and BLF(buckling load factor)?
Does this applies on different situation and the calculation behind is?
Firstly you have to check the model have enough FOS for carry the loads.
If ok and you have some compressıon forces, check the model for buckling.
we faced smonthing like, the model have 2.6 FOS and BLF is 1 . So it was safe acording to the statics analysis, but the buckling occured.
Buckling is eigenvalue problem static analysis is a F=kx solution. They have different mathematical approach.
