I think solidworks wants me to go home today! For some reason when I do a weldment cut list on this part all the balloon numbers are showing up the same number? It was fine, but then I edited a dimension and then it quit working. Any ideas?
I tried to repeat the same issue on my machine but could not, so I'm likely to think it is a computer related issue not a SOLIDWORKS file specific issue. I even tried to edit a dimension but everything stayed in tact on the same model. Try to use Autoballoon again to replace your balloons, if that does not work try to repeat the issue in Tools/Options bypass mode.
To do so, close SOLIDWORKS, click Start -->All Programs--> SOLIDWORKS 20XX --> SOLIDWORKS Tools --> And select SOLDIWORKS Rx 20XX (Same year as SOLIDWORKS). On the Home Tab Click on the link highlighted to open and try to repeat the issue in Tools/Options Bypass mode.
If the issue does not repeat try resetting the options by clicking the large Reset button at the bottom of the Options menu.
Are your balloons manual text? Or, are they tied to auto text to the BOM?
They are tied to auto text to the cut list. I inserted a new cut list relative to the Isometric view and then a selected the Autoballoon button.
It is extremely likely that the drawing view that you have created is not pointing to the correct table, as there are not 6 items in your cut list, suggesting it is looking elsewhere. Right mouse button on the view, select properties and take a look as seen in this image:
Obviously it should say: Weldment cut list 1 or something very similar.
Thanks Philip that was it.
