Reflective and Chrome Surfaces

Just a quick question, Our solidworks package does not include photoworks, and ive been trying to get mirrored or chrome surfaces to display.

I was wondering if photoworks was required to get them to display properly, or if its a different issue.

You need Real View to get reflective materials. Generally for that you need an nVidia Quadro card or equivalent. Check the SW graphics card website for a list of compatible cards and drivers.

  we do have a computer with real view, and it is better in real view, but its not like it appears in the appearance folder.
  
  For instance, chrome will be come very bright, but it still dosent look like chrome.

    Try changing to a different enviroment. The chrome works off reflections so a different environment will change the way it looks.
    
    That said you've found one of the limitations of RealView. In my opinion I find it typically doesn't look all that real
