I'm interested in the class seen on the SW page, but it's not until late August. I have learned a lot already from YouTube videos etc. and I'm not sure if the class will benefit me or not.
I took it years ago back when it was called 3DVia but forgot much of it before I really wanted to use it. I'd suggest you take the class from your VAR, the follow along book and files make it seem real easy.
I also took it years back when it was 3DVia. I am not sure how to answer if it will benefit you or not since I don't know your skill level. When I took it I had only been using it a very short time so I felt like it pointed me in a good direction. At the time I used it primarily for animations which was only covered very quickly in the class. They also didn't cover any HTML or interactive stuff. So I would say it really depends on how you are going to use it. Since you have been teaching yourself I would say the forums and your VAR may be enough guidance to skip the class but only you can make that call.
Thanks for the input! Has anyone used an online training like SolidProfessor? Or something similar?
Yes, when we were with GE, I had access to their SolidProfessor tutoring. I didn't use much but it was set up very nice.
