Has the Solidworks 2017 sp4 release delayed?
Here's the "normal" schedule. So according to this they have a month. But then again, they have as long as they want. Grains of salt.....
OK so Solidworks 2017 sp4 may just not release in July
The dates/month are tentative only and are subject to change.
SP 4.0 EV was already released on 05th July and final SP is generally released after 3-4 weeks from EV version.
BTW we still have one day to go into August
Ha ha Ha may be your location has one day to go but here in India is 31st July 2017 afternoon..
I belive they work based on USA time/date - not sure which one, as there are few out there
I'm in India only!!
only?? that is huge country
Everybody knows that Deepak Gupta is EVERYWHERE!
As I've said on other Discussions on this subject, those dates are estimates only, and I'd prefer them taking their time and getting it right instead of rushing to meet an arbitrary deadline.
Deepak Gupta IS HUGE!!!
Now if SW would fix the performance of 2017 in SP4.0.
Eagerly awaiting SP4 here. I need it because I'm unable to install SP3 - due to problems with SQL database having some new table design that companies with high network security (the one I work for) doesn't allow some admin rights to handle the new table data properly. This is me waiting!
and and and you can't select the AutoCAD 2017 add-in with SP3.
SP4 is out!!!!
Well I don't know what they have done but very slow to save.
I hit save and about 5 secs later the save process starts ????!!
Well, SP4 has a big bug for me. Whenever I close a window, SW hangs and freezes. Back to SP3
Man that's not good to hear. I'll be installing client 2017 SP4 this weekend. I'll post my findings...
Curious, are you using PDM? If so; when you revert back to a previous version (SP increment), is there any impact on PDM? What's involved to revert to a previous SP release? I've never done that. Thank you.
We have PDM. Our server is SP2. Our clients are SP3 for the engineering team. There is a bug up to SP3 where PDM add-in within Solidworks would crash. Solidworks techs found that bug was 30% of our crashes. This bug was supposedly fixed in SP4. I have on test user on SP4 to see if he has any issues, I did it as a clean install instead of admin image.
Was in the process of of testing the 2017 SP4 for my company, but it seems the 2017 SP4 is no longer at the download site.
I installed 2017 SP4 yesterday & so far everything seems to be working great......touch wood!
Yes there is an SPR related to the PDM add in so they have removed while a fix is implemented.

Do you have PDM installed, Kevin?
No I don't...
I installed it yesterday too and works fine
Yea, I'm one of those where SP4 failed. I was told this issue with PDM (SQL tables not updating properly) was baked into SP4, but it failed for me. I reported that to Solidworks and our VAR.
My VAR believes this critical SPR1039919 is the reason for the delay.
I just upgraded to SP4 yesterday and got the first CRASH this morning. To me, SW2017 hasnt been stable so far (compared to SW2016 sp5)
Hopefully, it'd be better in sp5
