So, I just took the plunge to 2017 (from 2014) and noticed there is now a distinction between body and feature mirror:
Can I change a feature mirror to a body mirror? It seems there isn't a means and is that the reason the icons are different?

Hi Matt,
You can only pick whether to use Feature Mirror or Body Mirror upon initial creation of the mirror feature. Once it is generated though it could not be swapped from Body Mirror to Feature Mirror or vice versa. It is stuck as what it is and would have to be deleted/replaced/remade.
The icons are just helping differentiate them.
No you can not as Ryan has pointed out.
In addition please prefer to do body mirror where possible for better performance.
I don't think this is a new thing to 2017. I am still using Solidworks 2012 and the Body/Feature Mirror has a different icon in the feature tree.
