I have never found a method that I like for creating decals. These decals are intended as much for drawings to send out to vendors to have manufactured as they are for representation of the decal on an assembly to show decal location in an assembly drawing. We do not currently do any rendered work so there is no need to consider that, at present.
Today I was working in assembly that was taking an extraordinarily long time to rebuild so I thought I would use a new trick I have recently learned from and run an Assembly Visualization to see what the problem was I found a decal that should be fairly benign was taking almost 70 seconds to rebuild.
Looking at the model I can realize what the problem is in that all those letters being an extrude is worse that threads on all our hardware. In the past I have created PNGs and pasted them as inserting picture in sketch but that has problems all it's own is sketches are not turned on. I also currently do not have access to Illustrator for making artwork anyway. So what is a good, reliable, fast way for creating decals?
Thank you
