Every time I open a file solidworks asks you to save even if you have not made any changes.
Always Save -
It doesn't ask me to save when you open.
It probably won't ask me to save when he opens it either. Must be a bug.
The answer you are going to get from SW is that the file or structure is dirty. In reality this is a known problem with opening some random SW files since I have used SW (2009).
However, it has been better over the last few years.
I could possibly see this behavior if the file you are trying to open is stored in a Document Management system. This would occur so that you would not be working on the original, protected file.
Are the files from another source and either not saved in your version of SWX yet or are in other formats (STEP, X_T...)?
If you have not saved in your version of SWX you will be asked, but it should indicate it is a version difference.
