I tried to figure that out, but nothing I click on seems to bring up a window to get to that information.

Hover over your BOM to highlight it, then click on the Letter at the top of the column (A in the screenshot). That will bring up the bar shown. Click on the "Column Property" icon. That will let you select the property you want the column linked to.
Its grayed out when I click on it. I also tried adding a blank column, and the column property choice is grayed out and doesn't do anything when I click on it.

I think I have my descriptions linked to a custom property called description, so that would be $PRP@Description in your DT
I got this to pop up on the left hand side. However, description isn't listed.
My reading comprehension must not be all it should today. Sorry about that. I gave you information for linking BOM columns to properties. You're right, it works different for cut lists (why they work different is one of the great mysteries of life). In that case I'm pretty sure that your column in your design table isn't properly linked. See the response above from Rob Edwards.
Yep, this is really confusing, but it's a nice feature to take advantage of that any custom properties defined in the weldment profile populate into the weldment properties when used

Yes, it is. It's saved me a tremendous amount of time.
Are you sure the column in the cut list is properly linked to the Description property?
