use the top or right planes as your parting plane.
Do you mean mold parameters for parting lines? I tried that. It doesn't work. There aren't any lines I can use as parting lines. I tried adding my own lines, but it wouldn't let me select them as the parting lines.
OH - you wanted to know how to use the SW mold features. not how to make the part like you stated.
have you gone through the SW mold tool tutorials?
Yes, not the official one in solidworks, but I have a textbook that has a tutorial in it. I can't seem to make it work using the instructions from the textbook.
use split line feature to split the faces using one of those two planes
