If you are referring to Google's Nik collection, it works well when integrated into PhotoShop, which I use routinely to edit my own backgrounds and for modifying .HDR environments for use in Visualize, although it is not without its issues. Last I heard, Google is ending support of the Nik collection, for whatever that's worth.
You can use the Nik Collection to pimp your renderings. There are some pretty cool filters inside. The plugin works inside photoshop and also in Affinity Photo. You can download the plugins for free, but Google will not support or develop them any more.
