I am trying to run the plastics simulation with a multi cavity mold that has a runner and cooling system.
I have modeled in a cavity, runner, gate, and the cooling system, but SolidWorks is unable to identify them as separate cavities when I try to run the solid mesh. I'm unsure if I modeled it incorrectly or if I missed a step in the modeling that would help.
The Blue is the cooling system, the red is the runner and gate, the rest is the cavity

Solidworks recognizes that they are separate bodies. I have seven bodies listed in the feature tree. And I made sure I didn't merge results. If I suppress the cooling lines, Plastics can see the body of the runner and the cavity, but as soon as I put in the cooling system it only recognizes it as one body all together. Doesn't make any sense to me.
I'm no expert on plastics but I'm pretty sure you dont need the bodies for the cooling system. If you have the path of the cooling system you can define the shape of the cooling system within plastics; have you tried that? Since the cooling bodies is giving you problems, you should at least try it.

With enough trial and error I have solved it and I am able to use the solid cooling system that was modeled in with some tweaks.

Hi Cobi,
probably Plastics is unable to identify them because there is a single body in your model. Control if you uncheck "merge result" in the features during modelling process, to have different solid body.
