I have a semi-annular round face that I'd like to rotate inwards. In the attached pictures, it's the blue highlighted face. Basically, I'd like keep it attached on one end to the other face, but I'd like the other end to bend inwards towards the center axis of the part. What's the best way to do this? Rotate face does not work, unsurprisingly. Hopefully this is clear. Thanks!
So basically, you want to bend that face inwards.
some questions:
What version of Solidworks are you using?
Do you want to use this as a sheet metal type tool, where you also want the "unbent" version. Or are you trying to modify the part?
If yes on the sheet metal portion, then I am NOT your man.....I need more practice with sheet metal before I answer that one.
If you are trying to modify the part, then a couple more questions:
Is it imported or modeled in Solidworks?
If imported, then the best bet might be to delete that area and re-sweep it at the correct angle.
If modeled, then can you just modify the driver for that surface (sweep/loft/extrude, etc...)?
Some screen shots of the feature tree or sharing of the part might help a lot in answering that question.
