    Drawing Label Problems

    Roger Fettes
I want to create labels on my assembly drawings that contain the properties of the part or sub assembly that the label touches.
So far I can only get this to work for parts, and not sub assemblies.
When you place a split balloon on a sub assembly it uses the properties of that assembly. But when I try this with a label and linked properties, it only registers the part that the leader is touching.
      Any ideas?
      Thanks

Yes, this is a big shortfall in the software. There is no option to set to make this work, although SW is aware of the deficiency.

There is a workaround, which is to turn on View>Origins. Then you can point your leader to the origin of the sub-assembly and it should work. This workaround obviously has some pretty serious problems too. Sorry there isn't a good solution, let's hope that it is added to the software asap.

            Thanks Charles.
Unfortunately, all of my assemblies use the origin of the first component placed in them, so I cant go that route without tweaking the origins all of my assemblies.
