Cross Fold / Cross Crease

Im after making a lid for a enclosure im drawing up and would like to know if there is a way to draw the cross fold/cresae on the lid to create a kind of weatherproof roof.

Will it have to be done by cutting some angles from a solid then shelling it and turning it into a sheet metal part. Or is there an option for it.

I would like it to work in the flat pattern to if possible
