I put a file on google drive, go to the iPad and edrawings isn't an option when I try "OPEN IN"
Seems like it should be straight forward, but of course it's not.
I don't believe that Apple allows links to Google Drive but they do to Dropbox. To beat that I emailed the file to myself and opened the attachment from the email. Later you can open them directly from the app as they save into your memory.
Have you tried saving your parts out as an 'eprt' and then opening them?
I was just trying the regular SW files types. I will try this now, thank you.
No that did not work. Opening as... from google drive still doesn't bring up eDrawings as an option.
Please forgive me asking an obvious question - has the edrawing app been installed on the I-Pad? In the android world there is a free version and a "premium" version.
Yes it was previously installed when I was in school, and I remember using it a couple times on projects. I deleted it, but now that I have a machine design job, I thought it might be useful at work. Reinstalled it but cannot get SW files from Google Drive to open as...
I was worried it might be a GoogleDrive integration issue. Absurd. I don't want to install email or another (e.g. dropbox) on the ipad. But I guess I should give it a try to eliminate that possibility.
See if they discus the storage options on the eDrawings site, I use another app for the 3D PDF's. I don't use eDrawings on any regular basis but suggest the 3D PDF's for others that have no CAD experience.
It works when I used DropBox, just stupid that it doesn't work from GoogleDrive.
