I am constructing a tab onto a box I've created, the issue is that once sketching the base flange it only appears as a border object,
how can I set it so the tab becomes solid.
The attachment will make it more clear.
I notice that your sketches are not fully defined - is there a logical reason for this?
Can you model the part as a standard part (at least as close as possible) rather than as sheet metal and attach the file here (I am having trouble determining your design intent)? Or post a picture or hand sketch of something similar?
Did you intend for this line and arc to be Tangent like it is on the other side?
Did you notice that some of your lines are black and others are blue?
Blue lines or points should drive you craze. Keep you up at night. Prevent you from eating or sleeping.
Yeah I realized it wasn't fully defined. Thanks!
Do you want the tab like this? If so on your sketch you needed to add an extra line here. (see below)
This was the answer I was looking for thanks!
Michael, make sure to close your sketch if you want to make a tab onto a sheet metal part. Right now it is an open sketch, which is why it was created as a separate body.
Is this what you wanted?
I just offset the sketch and closed the ends.
I realized I needed to close the sketch to fully define it.
