Can you modify the Web2 main page to add a company logo or change the title?
Yes you can as long as you know how to work with HTML. To be on the safe side, make a copy of the web page before you modify it.
Yeah I'm familiar with html and that's what I was looking for but I don't see any files with the title shown.
The website was designed using the ASP.Net web pages and Microsoft's Razor syntax. You will find what you're looking for in the _Layout.cshtml file. As Adrian Velazquez mentioned all you need to do is replace the appropriate image file.
Yeah, I found the images and figured I could just overwrite them. However, I'm looking to change the title where it says "SOLIDWORKS PDM Web2". I can't find that text string an any files so I'm beginning to wonder if its hard coded somewhere.
Are you talking about the webpage title? Edit the Web.config file and in the appSettings section add the following key along with your desired value:
<add key="SiteName" value="My PDM Website"/>
I'm trying to change this section. I added the key you mentioned but nothing changed.
Sorry Jason I thought you were talking about the page title
What you're pointing to is another image file, header-logo.png
That's what I thought at first but its not...the header-logo.png shows "Enterprise PDM Web2 Beta". The website shows "SOLIDWORKS PDM Web2" and its selectable text, not an image.
If you are looking to edit the "SOLIDWORKSPDMWeb2" title, edit the Login.cshtml file found here:
Locate the following line:
<span class="logoText">@Html.ConvertString(ProductResources.SiteName) </span>
Replace it with:
<span class="logoText">PDM Vault Login </span>
Or you can change the "PDM Vault Login" to whichever you prefer.
Save the Login.cshtml and Recycle your Application Pool.
Edit: forgot to mention, open and save Login.cshtml with Notepad.
Pro-tip: Notepad++ has a find in files feature that lets you search for text in an entire directory structure
I simply modified the image files in the HTML folder
