Can solidworks simulation make a thermal treatment in a gear?
This software won't let you heat treat a design to see what the new material properties would be. You would need to come to the table knowing how the material properties had changed from heat treating and not the other way around.
Can you expound on what you mean by "thermal treatment"? If you mean to anneal a steel gear then this is a matter of applying material properties for annealed steel for your study. If you mean to apply heat loads and see how the model behaves with a variable temperature distribution on it then you would need to have the temperature dependent properties of your material defined and applied to the model. What are you trying to find?
My Material = 18CrMo4.
The part = one gear.
The termal treatment = cementation = 18CrMo4 + C
I would like to see the result after heating and cooling the gear in a controlled way but in the simulation I can not introduce carbon . What result?. The permanents deformations. I know HRB hardness or other is not calculated by the software.
