in creo it seems much easier to use Model dimensions than in solidworks, i understand how to do it although it is not seeming like the most effiecent way, easier to just make the dimensions.

So Tom, when I model PEM hardware (I usually just download what I need but most times I like to model so I can have all the configs) I turn off marking the dimension for importing. This will allow the design to work but work allow the dimensions to show up in a drawing.
As far as inserting modeling items, I tend to take the slower approach and just do one feature at a time when I have a lot of features.

Was there a question in there? Or is this just another one-post SW bashing, with a side of advertising for a competitor?
could it be that i have an assembly in my drawing (sheet metal part with pems)
